From Antique to Contemporary

From Antique to Contemporary

Hi World!

We have been working really hard for the past few weeks on getting a lot of things (ancient things might I add) out of the apartment and switching up the place to something a bit more contemporary. Thank goodness the Mr. and I both see eye to eye on a more contemporary style.

It's been a long time coming, and while I loved my Grandmother dearly, she had a habit of not wanting to let things go. While I know she is up in Heaven smiling down at me, I sometimes wonder if she would approve of some of the decisions I am making. Sure, she would probably be a little upset about some of the old books I've chucked along the way but she'll get over it.

So here we are, on our hunt. On our journey from antique to contemporary.
New York City, USA

So the hunt began in one of my favorite places, Target!

I'm Just TOO Creative. Scary Sometimes....
I picked up a few cute nifty items there for the Lilac Room.

The Hello Kitty Water Dispenser was on sale. What the hell. I couldn't say no! You can buy it here.

They all fit quite well in the Lilac Room.
Meet Mr. Owl, The New Lilac Room Member...
It's a work in progress, but we are getting there and although there's still a lot of work to be done (like painting the walls a more upbeat color)  I can say I enjoy the direction we are going in. The sofa sleeper and leather sofas are amazing. You can get them those over at Jennifer Convertibles.
Did He Really Leave a CUP There???!

I've got to admit I was a bit skeptical about the glass table sets, but in the end the Mr. was right and they seemed to compliment the colors and the rug perfectly.

What color combination do you think we should we go with on the walls?
